Professor Michael Andre, Ph.D. He is is
currently Professor of Radiology, Chief of the
Physics & Engineering Division at the University of
California, San Diego School of Medicine, and he is
Chief Physicist in San Diego Veterans Affairs
Healthcare System. He is certified by American Board
of Radiology (Diagnostic Radiological Physics) and
in Mammography by the California Department of
Health Services. He is widely known for his
expertise in medical physics and for his basic and
clinical research in novel imaging technologies
including ultrasound holography, diffraction
tomography and digital x-ray detectors. He published
more than 130 scientific articles and studies but he
is particularly recognized for his contributions in
the past decade to breast imaging. Professor Andre
is a Scientific Reviewer for more than a dozen
scientific and medical journals and he currently
serves on a number of Review Panels for the NIH/National
Cancer Institute, the US Army Medical Research &
Materiel Command, the Susan Komen Breast Cancer
Research Foundation, the Singapore Academy of
Sciences and the Swedish Scientific Council. He is a
scientific and medical advisor to multiple private
and public corporations and currently holds the
title of Chief Scientific Officer for Radco
Corporation, San Diego, CA. He is a member of the
American Association of Physicists in Medicine,
American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine,
Acoustical Society of America, Society of
Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, and the San
Diego Radiological Society. Professor Andre obtained
M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of
California, Los Angeles in 1975 and 1980.

Professor Christopher Comstock, M.D. He is
currently Director of Breast Imaging Center of UCSD
School of medicine. Prior to this position professor
Comstock was head of MEMRAD Radiology Group, Breast
Imaging Memorial Breast Center, Long Beach,
California and Orange Coast Breast Center, Fountain
Valley, California. Before moving to California he
practiced as Assistant Professor of Radiology in
University of Chicago and Northwestern University
Medical School, Chicago, IL. He graduated with the

Professor
Linda K. Olson, M.D. Professor Olson has
been Professor of Clinical Radiology and Director of
Breast Imaging since 1993 as well as Chief of
Diagnostic Radiology. She received a B.A. degree in
Biology from Loma Linda University of Arts &
Sciences in 1964 and her M.D. from Loma Linda
University of Medicine in 1976. In 1977, she
received her Internship in Categorical Radiology at
White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles.
Professor Olson received her CT Fellowship in
Computed Tomography at UCSD Medical Center,
Radiology Department at San Diego in 1982. She
received her degree in Diagnostic Radiology from
White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles in
1981. Professor Olson served as Assistant Clinical
Professor of Radiology at UCSD from 1982-1989 when
she became Associate Professor. She also served as
Assistant Chief of Diagnostic Radiology from
1984-1983.
Professor Olson has received such honors and awards
as Special Incentive Award for Clinical Recognition
at UCSD Medical Center in 1985, the Silver Spoon
Award for Teaching Excellence from Radiology
Residents in 1987, and runner up of the Kaiser
Teaching Award at the School of Medicine in 1987. In
1991, she received American Association of Women
Radiologists Marie Curie Award (AAWR) RSNA in
Chicago and Fellow of the American College of
Radiology in 1993. She has published 20 papers.

O'Boyle is Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology
and Chief of Ultrasound, VAMC. She received B.A from
University of Delaware, Delaware, Newark, 1982; M.D.
from DE University of Medicine & Dentistry, Newark,
NJ in 1986. Here internship was in Boston City
Hospital, Boston, MA Pennsylvania Hospital,
Philadelphia, PA and she had her fellowship from
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia
in 1992. Additionally she holds the following

Professor Katherine M. Richman, M.D.
Professor Richman is Assistant Clinical Professor of
Radiology, University of California, San Diego and
Chief of Diagnostic Radiology, Thornton Hospital.
She received her B.S. and B.A. for Stanford
University, Palo Alto, CA (1987); M.D. and
fellowship from University of California, San Diego
(1999). She has the following academic appointments:
Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology,
University of California, San Diego, School of
Medicine, and Chief of Radiology, University of

Professor Richman held the following positions:
